About Our Go Karting Experience

What age can children start go karting?

Children can race on our dedicated Cadet Raceway from 4 years old, while our Main GP Raceway is suitable for drivers aged 9 and over, provided they meet the minimum height requirement.

What are the minimum height requirements?

Drivers must be at least 120cm tall to race on our Cadet Raceway and 135cm tall to race on our Main GP Raceway.

Is there a maximum driver weight?

Yes. The maximum driver weight is 22 stone.

Do I need a driving licence to race?

No. You do not need a driving licence or any previous driving experience to enjoy karting at Full Throttle Raceway.

How fast are your go-karts?

Our Biz 200cc karts are capable of speeds of up to 40mph, providing an exciting racing experience for both beginners and experienced drivers.

How long is the track?

Our indoor GP circuit is approximately 300 metres in length and offers a combination of fast straights and technical corners.

Race Sessions And Bookings

Do I need to book in advance?

We recommend booking in advance, particularly during weekends, evenings and school holidays, to secure your preferred race session.

Can I turn up and race without a booking?

Yes, if space is available. However, pre-booking is always recommended to avoid disappointment.

What race formats do you offer?

We offer a range of race formats suitable for individuals, families, groups, birthday parties and corporate events. Depending on the event, races may include practice sessions, qualifying and competitive races.

Can beginners take part?

Yes. Our race sessions are suitable for complete beginners as well as experienced drivers. Every participant receives a safety briefing before entering the track.

Can I book for a group?

Yes. We welcome bookings for birthday parties, family outings, stag and hen parties, schools, clubs and corporate events.

Can I become a member?

Yes. If you enjoy racing regularly, becoming a member gives you access to exclusive member benefits.

Children’s Karting

Do children race on a separate track?

Yes. Younger drivers race on our dedicated Cadet Raceway, which has been designed specifically for children aged 4 to 10.

Are children’s karting sessions suitable for beginners?

Yes. Many children visit us for their very first karting experience, and our dedicated junior circuit provides a safe and enjoyable introduction to the sport.

Do children receive a safety briefing?

Yes. Every junior driver receives a full safety briefing before racing, ensuring they understand the kart controls and track rules.

Can parents watch the races?

Yes. Family and friends are welcome to watch from our spectator areas while the racing takes place.

Are junior drivers supervised during their session?

Yes. Our experienced marshals supervise every session and monitor the track throughout the race.

Safety And Equipment

Is karting safe?

Yes. Safety is our highest priority. Every driver receives a comprehensive safety briefing before racing and all sessions are supervised by trained marshals.

What equipment do you provide?

We provide helmets and the necessary safety equipment for every driver.

Can I bring my own helmet?

Yes. You are welcome to wear your own helmet provided it is a full-face helmet suitable for karting.

What should I wear?

We recommend comfortable clothing and flat, closed-toe shoes such as trainers. Sandals and flip flops are not permitted.

Drivers must also wear gloves and a balaclava. You are welcome to bring your own or purchase them on the day for £4 (£2 per item).

Why do I need to wear gloves and a balaclava?

Gloves and balaclavas help maintain hygiene standards while providing additional comfort when wearing a helmet.

Can I race more than once during my visit?

Yes. Many visitors choose to book multiple race sessions to enjoy more track time and improve their lap times.

Facilities

Is free parking available?

Yes. We have plenty of free on-site parking, with CCTV operating throughout the car park.

Can I buy food and drinks?

Yes. We have pizza ovens on site as well as vending machines offering a selection of snacks and drinks.

Can I bring my own food and drinks?

Yes. You’re welcome to bring your own prepared food and drinks. However, food cannot be delivered from external fast food outlets.

Do you have seating for spectators?

Yes. We have picnic tables overlooking the Main Raceway where spectators and drivers can relax after their session.

Your Visit

What happens before my race starts?

Before heading onto the track, you’ll check in with our team, receive your safety equipment and attend a mandatory safety briefing. Once everyone is ready, you’ll be shown to your kart before the session begins.

Can I improve my lap times by racing regularly?

Yes. Many of our returning drivers use our open race sessions and memberships to improve their consistency, racing lines and lap times.
